New York State West Youth Soccer Association (NYSW) announces a partnership with the Lancaster Depew Soccer Club to determine the qualifying teams for the US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup 2011 from NYSW. Any team of a member club in NYSW, that would be eligible (team eligibility described below) for Presidents Cup Series can enter this tournament and have the opportunity to participate in this exciting new national championship series. The End of the Summer Classic will have a Presidents Cup bracket at each of the following age groups: 13, 14, 15, and 16. The winners would then represent NYSW at the Region 1 Qualifiers to be held Memorial Day weekend in 2011. The winners of the Region 1 Qualifier would then complete in the National finals, which would be held in July of 2011.

Here is a great opportunity to take your team to the next level. You can register your team for the Presidents Cup bracket at the Lancaster Depew Soccer Club’s End of the Summer Classic website by clicking here. The tournament fee will be $345 and payable to Lancaster Depew Soccer Club. Please make sure that you note on your application that you want to participate in the Presidents Cup bracket.

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to US Youth Soccer teams from the state to regional to national level. Regional qualifiers, known as US Youth Soccer Regional Presidents Cup events, will determine the teams competing in the President Cup Finals. The location for the 2011 Presidents Cup Finals will be held in North Carolina. Boys and girls teams in the Under-13 through Under-17 age groups will participate in the Presidents Cup 2011.

Team Eligibility:
Only a NYSW club member team can apply to compete in the Lancaster Depew Soccer Club – End of the Summer Classic Presidents Cup brackets. The team must be currently in the top two divisions in a NYSW sanctioned travel league. No premier teams will be allowed. The team can not be a member of the NYSW Championship Series 2010 final four, just completed May 2010. All teams within the Presidents Cup Bracket in this tournament will be approved to play by NYSW. A team is not allowed to participate in both the Presidents Cup and National Championship Series (State Cup) in a given year.
Teams must recognize that the Presidents Cup becomes your primary focus for 2011. Teams are expected to play the published Presidents Cup schedule for 2011 in preference to any other league competition in which they may be entered. This requirement also applies to tournaments that the team may enter. If your team is not prepared to play the published Cup schedule, your team should not enter the Presidents Cup. If your team is the qualifier from this tournament to next year’s Region 1 Qualifier you will be expected to participate and pay the entry fee of $500. That entry fee will be paid by February 2011. If for any reason the qualifier from this event is unable to represent NYSW at the Region 1 Qualifier in 2011 we will solicit the teams from the Presidents bracket at the End of the Summer Classic in order that they finished to participate at the Region 1 Qualifier.

NYSW would like to thank the Lancaster Depew Soccer Club for volunteering this year to help us out with this endeavor. This is a new process for us and we continually look to see how we can improve the qualifying process. Without the support of our member clubs programs like this would not be possible.
Any questions regarding the NYSW Presidents Cup qualifying process or the Presidents Cup in general can be directed to our Presidents Cup Chairman – Brian Lang at blang@nyswysa.org.
