2009 Rochester Winter TOPSoccer Program for Children with Disabilities

This program will run Tuesday evenings January 6, 13, 20, 27, February 3, 10 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. This is open to all players with disabilities ages 5-21 interested in learning more about playing soccer!

The Rochester TOPSoccer program, run by Rob and Linda DiCenzo, was very well received. Seventeen players registered from age 5 to 23. Players were very excited and had a lot of fun playing soccer and making new friends with the players and volunteers. According to the parents, they really enjoyed the program and are looking forward to our winter program which will run sometime after school soccer.
 
The volunteers were very dedicated and the program wouldn’t have been a success without them. Volunteers included players and coaches from many of the local clubs and current and past players on the Rhinos men’s and women’s teams. We will also be receiving over a $5,000 donation from the Kids Annual Charity Fund Raiser for the Penfield Rangers Soccer Club in Rochester. 
 
Highlights included the night that uniforms were handed out. The players were very excited to be part of such a fun team and really started to get to know each other. Of course, the most excitement was on the last session when all players received a medal for participating.
