In conjunction with the NYSWYSA Annual General Meeting, the 2013 NYSW Coaches Workshop will be held on Fri/Sat, November 8/9, 2013 at the Doug Miller Family Sports Park in Spencerport, NY and the Rochester Airport Marriott Hotel.   This year’s feature clinician is Columbus Crew Head Coach and NYSWYSA Hall of Famer, Brian Bliss.  Bliss’ stellar professional playing career included stops in Germany and the MLS, as well as international duty with the US National Team (1988 Olympics, 1990 World Cup and 1995 Copa America Tournament).  In addition to leading the Crew first team, Bliss also carries the title of Technical Director where he is instrumental in player development and the acclaimed Crew Academy.  Bliss was also an assistant coach with the US U20 National Team that recently competed in FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey.  Joining Bliss will be veteran USYSA national clinician and the NYSWYSA Director of Coaching Education, Chris Hershey and NYSWYSA Director of Recreation Soccer, Chris Pacilio.  Aaran Lines, Head Coach of the WNY Flash and winners of three out of the last four top domestic women’s league championships (W-League, WPS, WPSL), will serve as the feature speaker at the NYSWYSA Awards Banquet, which recognizes and celebrates the many achievements of the NYSWYSA membership.

Coach Bliss will present a lecture on Friday evening at 8pm (Rochester Airport Marriott Hotel, with a coaches reception at 7pm) and on Saturday, he will conduct field sessions at 9:15am and again at 1:15pm.  Coach Hershey and Coach Pacilio will conduct a “Coaching 101” field/class session on Saturday at 10:30am.  All Saturday sessions will take place at the Doug Miller Family Sports Park.  Admission is FREE but attendees must RSVP via the online registration process.  Please continue to visit this website for final updates on session times and topics. After the workshop on Saturday, the NYSWYSA Annual General Meeting will take place at 4pm at the Rochester Airport Marriott on Ridge Rd.  Then, the impressive Coach Lines will headline the NYSWYSA Awards Banquet which will be held at the same facility at 7pm.
