Rhinos to Host MLS'S MetroStars
Frontier Field on Tuesday, August 19 at 7:35 p.m.

Rochester Raging Rhinos Vice President/General Manager Chris Economides announced today that the Rhinos will host Major League Soccer’s New York/New Jersey MetroStars in an exhibition “friendly” at Frontier Field on Tuesday, August 19 at 7:35 p.m.

It marks the fourth time the MatroStars have traveled to Frontier Field, with the previous three matches also coming in exhibition “friendlies.”  The MetroStars earned a 3-2 shootout victory in 1998, a 2-1 shootout win in 1999 and a 2-1 win in regulation during the 2001 season. 

The MetroStars feature United States Men’s National Team members Clint Mathis, Tim Howard and Eddie Pope. 

Rochester and the MetroStars will also meet during the preseason as the Rhinos will travel to Giants Stadium for a preseason exhibition on Sunday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m.  It will be the first of six preseason matches for the Rhinos.
