College Resources from the NSCAA

The following resources area available from the NCAA website (www2.ncaa.org):

NCAA Clearinghouse

This site will provide you with information about initial-eligibility at NCAA Division I and II member colleges and universities.

NCAA - Academics & Athletes

The overwhelming majority of student-athletes will never earn a dime as a professional athlete.  That’s why the terms "student" and "athlete" are synonymous within the NCAA: When the athlete can no longer play, the student can still succeed.  This section of the NCAA Web site contains information about the educational environment in which athletes live – how they stay eligible to compete, how they learn to make the right choices about their health and welfare, how they perform in the classroom, and how they develop into tomorrow’s leaders.

NCAA - Eligibility & Conduct

This section of the NCAA website provides information on how student-athletes can comply with NCAA bylaws in order to compete in intercollegiate athletics.  It includes information on what high-school students need to do to be eligible to compete their first year in college, as well as guidelines that coaches and prospects must follow during the recruiting process.  Information is also included on conduct issues that have eligibility ramifications, such as gambling and the use of sports agents.

NCAA - Personal Welfare

Athletes face even more personal and physical hazards than the average college student.  This section of the NCAA website has links to resources and programs that the NCAA conducts to help student-athletes stay healthy and make the proper choices about nutrition and drugs.
