December 12, 2001 (December 6, 2001) - The US Youth Soccer Girls Olympic Development Program National Camp and the adidas Elite Soccer Program will combine to create the first ever ODP/ESP National Camp. This event, the first to be completely free for the girls to attend, will be held July 30-August 4 at the University of North Carolina - Wilmington. The Under 15 and Under 17 ODP Regional teams will compete for roster spots on the U.S. Under 18 and Under 16 National teams. The five-day event will consist of training sessions, games, and off-the-field classroom sessions. The training camp, one of the top scouting events for women's college soccer programs, serves as a prime example of US Youth Soccer and adidas' partnership working together to create top level events for elite youth players.
