Free Youth Module courses for NYSWYSA Recreational Clubs will be offered between September 1st and May 31st of each year in accordance with the State Director of Coaching’s availability and schedule. Every club is eligible for one course per calendar year. Eligibility will be determined on a per-case basis by the State DOC (professional compliance) and the State Office (administrative compliance).  Attendees 1-15 will be free, attendees 16-25 will be at the fee of $30 each, for attendees 26-40 the fee will be $25 each, and 41+ will be charged $20 each.

Criteria

The following criteria determine eligibility of any member club for a free Youth Module course:

1. The club is in good standing with the NYSWYSA.

2. The member club is in compliance with the NYSWYSA Risk Management Policy.

3. All players’ registration information has been submitted by the due date.

4. All monies have arrived at the State Office by the due date.

5. The organization follows the playing number policy mandated by US Youth Soccer and Region 1, which are enforced by NYSWYSA as defined below:
   • Under 6 are playing 3v3 [max 4v4] with no goalkeeper
   • Under 8 are playing 4v4 [max 5v5] with no goalkeeper
   • Under 10 are playing 6v6 [max 7v7] including a goalkeeper
   • Under 11 are playing 8v8 [max 9v9] including a goalkeeper

6. The member club has made arrangements to host the course. The location of the venue has been submitted to the State Office by the due date.

7. The member club has submitted sole contact information, who will serve as the liaison between the State Director of Coaching and the member club, by the due date.

8. A deposit check for the minimum required (15 coaches x $30 per person = $450) along with the hosting form is sent to the State Office no later than a month prior to the course commencement. The maximum number of coaches allowed per course is limited to 25. Upon completion of the course and receipt of a report containing the name of the hosting organization, the date, time and location of the course, a list of coaches in attendance and the name of the course instructor, the deposit check will be refunded within five (5) business days.

9. In cases where the minimum requirement is not met (i.e. fewer than 15 coaches show up), the member club will have to incur the cost difference. It is possible to combine a list of 15 coaches from more than one club so long there are one contact person and one venue for all member clubs.

Note that the clubs are required to confirm attendance with the State Director of Coaching one week prior to the course commencement date!

Due Date for submission

The due date for submission of all the above requirements is at least one month prior to the course commencement. Courses will be given on the first-come-first-serve basis.

Important Notice

Due to the increasing demand, we recommend that organizations request free Youth Modules two to three months in advance.
