New US Youth Soccer President Elected Former NYW President Buiniskis remains Secretary With David Messersmith reaching his term limit, a new US Youth Soccer President was recently elected at the US Youth Soccer AGM.
Larry Monaco, a former president of Virginia Youth Soccer Association and appointee to the U.S. Soccer Federation and US Youth Soccer Board of Directors, was elected as the nation's largest youth sport organization's president. Monaco ran against current US Youth Soccer Vice-President Evelyn Gill and former Oregon Youth Soccer Association President Steve Baker.
Messersmith was recognized for many contributions during his leadership including the strategic plan, financial stability, the establishment of the US Youth Soccer Coaching Education Department, bringing the marketing efforts of the organization as well as the public relations/communications in-house and the forming of strategic partnerships with Major League Soccer and National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
In other elections, former NYW President Tony Buiniskis was uncontested and re-elected as secretary of the US Youth Soccer Board. Buiniskis was originally nominated for the post two years ago by current NYW President Oystein Ostebo.
