Vice Chair of Adjudication Dennis Tobolski selected to fill position NYW names Vice Chair of Adjudication Section 13.5 of Article IV of the NYW Bylaws was recently amended from its Current Text: The Adjudication Committee shall be chaired by a Board Member appointed annually by the President with the approval of the BOD. Additionally, it shall consist of one person selected by the NYSWYSA Commissioner from each District.
The New Text reads: The Adjudication Committee shall consist of a Board Member and one other person appointed annually by the President with the approval of the BOD. Additionally, it shall consist of one person selected by the NYSWYSA Commissioner from each District. The Chair and a Vice-Chair of the Committee shall be named by the President with Board approval.
The rationale for making this change was to create a new volunteer position - that of Vice-Chair - to help with adjudication and be able to fill in when the Chair is not available. This should allow for a more timely handling of adjudication issues.
On May 9 - upon the recommendation of the Nominating Committee of Roger Best, Greg Firenze, Edward Haywood and Martin Ott - the NY West Board unanimously approved Dennis Tobolski of Great Valley as the new Vice Chair of Adjudication.
Dennis has been a youth soccer coach since 1978 and has worked as a referee on both the high school and club level. He also is a former USSF referee assessor and has served as the Southern Tier representative to the Adjudication Committee. Tobolski is currently the Cattaraugus County Attorney.
