Second Annual Doug May 3 v 3 Festival For U10 Boys & Girls
November 17, 2007 at Total Sports Experience, Rochester

General Information

The Festival will be held in conjunction with the NY West Coaches Workshop at TSE on November 17, 2007. This special Festival is named in memory of the late Doug May, a long time NY West area coach for travel teams, ODP, high schools and colleges, and a 2005 NYW Hall of Fame inductee. There will be separate play for boys' and girls' teams. Co-ed teams will play in the boys' division. There is a limit to the number of teams that can participate, so entries will be accepted on a "first come, first served" basis. Each team will play at least three matches to small goals with no goalkeepers. The maximum roster size is five. Each team's players must be properly registered/insured through the NYW RosterPro registration program and accompanied by a registered/insured adult. There is no entry fee. All players will receive a participation award.

Plan now to get your teams lined up for this fun event. Entries will be accepted on a "first come, first served" basis and must be submitted on an official NYW roster by selecting the "Doug May 3 v 3 League" and then sending the official roster page by E-mail to Sandy Ostebo. (If you need help with this, please contact Sandy Ostebo at sandyostebonyw@stny.rr.com or at 607-368-8456).

Rules

1. Players: Rosters are limited to five (5) U10 players. Three (3) field players and no keepers will be on the field during play. Substitutions can be made on the fly with players entering in their own half.

2. Ball: A size four ball will be provided.

3. Equipment: Players must wear shin guards and the same color jerseys.

4. The first team listed for each match on the schedule will kick off from center field. Kick-offs may  be taken in any direction and are indirect. Balls over side line will be played in on the ground by the feet. Balls hitting boards behind goal will be put back in play by a goal kick. Following a goal, the defending team restarts with a goal kick. Goal kicks are taken from anywhere within three (3) yards of the goal. All restarts are indirect, and on restarts defending players must be at least three (3) yards away. No free kicks are to be taken closer than five (5) yards from the goal area.

5. Game duration: Each match will be 15 minutes - running time, with no time-outs. Teams must be by the field ten (10) minutes before the scheduled start of the match and ready to start at the scheduled starting time.
