This matrix is for club soccer.
Club age groups follow the seasonal year, September 1 to August 31, so teams line up with the school year. The Olympic Development Program (ODP) still groups players by calendar birth year to stay consistent with the international system used for regional and national player pools. 2026-2027 Age Matrix Changes
US Youth Soccer (USYS), US Club Soccer, and American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), have agreed to adopt the seasonal year age group formation cycle for its players starting with each’s 2026-27 season.
