About New York West State Cup

The New York State West Youth Soccer Association will crown its State Cup champions at the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex in the summer of 2026. After lifting the trophy for their respective age groups, New York West State Cup champions will earn the opportunity to play in the US Youth Soccer (USYS) National Championships.

As mentioned, New York West State Cup Champions become eligible for the USYS National Championships. New York West State Cup is part of the USYS National Championships Presented by New York Life, which is the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament. The competition provides winners from each state with the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play.

2026 State Cup Calendar

  • 11/1/25: Registration Opens
  • 12/9/25: Registration Closes at 11:59 PM
  • 12/11/25: Preliminary Rosters for Returning Final Four Teams to Demonstrate Roster Continuity Due at 6:00 PM
  • 12/16/25: Blind Draw – 6 PM Zoom Meeting
  • 12/17/25: Play Down Match-Ups Released
  • Flexible self-scheduling begins (Process Details). Games can be played from 3/1/26 to 5/17/26. Home Team must provide field for game.
  • 2/7/26: Roster Freeze Deadline at 6:00 PM. Birth certificates must be uploaded for all players on State Cup roster for approval.
  • 2/14/26: Playdown Game Schedules due. The schedule for all games must be provided at this time. Any unscheduled games will be scheduled at a Date/Time/Location determined by NYSW.
  • 3/1/26: Playdown games to begin after this date. All rosters will be approved prior to this date.
  • 4/26/26 to 4/27/26: ODP Development Weekend
  • 5/17/26: Completion Deadline for All Games
  • 5/18/25: Rain Date if needed for reschedules only.
  • 5/26/26: Mandatory Meeting for State Cup Finalists at 7:30 PM via Zoom.
  • 5/29/26 to 5/31/26: State Cup in Cortland, New York
  • USYS National Championships
    • Boys: July 13–23, 2026, in Salt Lake City & Provo, UT
    • Girls: July 13–25, 2026, in Murfreesboro & Smyrna, TN
      • Major format change
        • Direct qualification: State Cup champions from all 54 US Youth Soccer state associations will now advance directly to the National Championships.
        • Elimination of regionals: This new format eliminates the regional competition layer, reducing travel demands for teams. 

As a reminder: If you are participating in State Cup and have players born outside of the United States, the International Transfer Clearance (ITC) process must be completed for each player prior to the first playdown match.
