Hello.

I hope this message finds you well. This email is going out to the President and Registrar of each active member organization within New York State West Youth Soccer Association (NYSW). Please share appropriately with your Board of Directors.

I am writing to inform you about a new law that will affect our association.  It requires camps and youth sports programs to establish an automated external defibrillator implementation plan. The specifics of the law can be found at this link: https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2023/S7424

The law was signed on 24 Nov 23 with amendments signed on 8 Jan 24. Organizations affected by the law, have 180 days to develop an implementation plan as prescribed by the law. NYSW is collaborating with Eastern New York Youth and Adult Soccer Association as well as Western New York Adult Soccer Association to form a working group that will provide feedback to the sponsor of the bill and work on development of standardized implementation plans that may be adopted by our members.

If you or someone in your organization have already developed a plan OR has information that may be relative to development of a plan and/or acquisition of resources to facilitate the requirements of the law OR would be interested in participating on the working group addressing this matter, please do not hesitate to share that with us via an email addressed to ExecDir@nyswysa.org and with the subject:  AED Law.

We understand that adapting to new regulations can be challenging, but please rest assured that we are working diligently to ensure compliance and minimize any disruption to operations and activities.
